In 2018, GFSSM was jointly launched by the US Space Foundation, the UK National Space Academy, the leading aerospace institution in China, and the ITCCC. The first international competition attracted more than 300 high school students from the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and Pakistan.

China – ITCCC
GFSSM's partner in China is ITCCC, the organizing committee for GFSSM in the country. Specializing in STEAM education and Project-Based Learning (PBL) curricula, ITCCC is a leading educational organization responsible for organizing prestigious international programs, including the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL), International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IOAI), Botball Robotics, Bebras International Computational Thinking Challenge, and Future City.
United States – Space Foundation
GFSSM's partner in the United States is the Space Foundation, a co-founder of GFSSM. Founded in 1983 in Colorado Springs, it is a leading global organization that inspires, educates, connects, and advocates on behalf of the international space community, promoting STEM education and engagement in space-related fields worldwide.
United Kingdom – UK National Space Academy
GFSSM's partner in the UK was the UK National Space Academy, a co-founder of GFSSM that provides space education and training for students and teachers. Supported by the UK Space Agency, the European Space Agency, and other partners, the academy develops educational programs that inspire future generations in STEM and space science.
Hong Kong & Macao, China – Knights Nurturing Foundation
GFSSM's partner in Hong Kong and Macao is the Knights Nurturing Foundation, serving as the regional organizing committee. Established in 2016 and officially registered as a non-profit in 2023, the foundation organizes participation in international competitions including the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) and the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL), while promoting STEM and interdisciplinary education for students.
Pakistan – Lahore Grammar School (LGS)
GFSSM's partner in Pakistan is Lahore Grammar School (LGS), a leading private school network known for its rigorous academic programs, strong emphasis on English language proficiency, and diverse co-curricular activities. LGS plays a key role in identifying and preparing students for participation in GFSSM programs and events.
Canada – Canada Youth Robotics Club
GFSSM's partner in Canada is the Canada Youth Robotics Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to robotics education. With experienced K-12 instructors, the club strengthens student engagement and awareness in robotics through community classes, competitions, speaking events, and astronomy-related activities, empowering youth across Canada to explore STEM fields and develop technological skills.
India – Shiv Nadar School
GFSSM's partner in India is Shiv Nadar School, an initiative of the Shiv Nadar Foundation. Certified as a Great Place to Work, the school delivers high-quality K-12 education with a progressive, experiential approach. It integrates technology into learning, emphasizes sports and arts, and nurtures ethical, respectful, and purposeful citizens while fostering academic excellence and holistic development.
Ethiopia – University of Gondar
GFSSM's partner in Ethiopia is University of Gondar, one of the oldest and largest higher education institutions in the country. Recognized as a leading research university under recent educational reforms by the Ministry of Education, the university contributes to STEM education and scientific advancement, preparing students for national and international opportunities in research and innovation.
Australia – STEM and Robotics Advancement Association
GFSSM's partner in Australia is the STEM and Robotics Advancement Association, the official Australian organizing committee for the GFSSM programme. The association leads youth technology education and organizes participation in prestigious international competitions, including the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (IOAI) and Botball Robotics. Through comprehensive programs in space science, AI, and robotics, it empowers Australian students to expand their technological skills, engage internationally, and cultivate advanced innovation capabilities in STEM fields.
Tunisia – ATAST
GFSSM's partner in Tunisia is the Tunisian Association for the Future of Science and Technology (ATAST), the Country Coordinator for the GFSSM programme. Established in 2012, ATAST promotes scientific and technological development through national events such as contests, festivals, and camps. The organization fosters innovation among youth, encourages collaboration between scientific groups, and aims to enhance young people’s scientific and technological skills while uniting scientific communities for shared progress.
Japan – TENGAI
GFSSM's partner in Japan is TENGAI, the Country Coordinator for the GFSSM programme. TENGAI provides high-quality education to children and teenagers, offering equal opportunities to “explore the world and fulfill themselves.” The organization enables students to participate in diverse educational projects while promoting global awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through interdisciplinary learning experiences, TENGAI broadens students’ global horizons, enhances the 4Cs (Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity), and fosters positive values and attitudes.
Malaysia – Apadilangit Space Academy
GFSSM's partner in Malaysia is Apadilangit Space Academy, which offers hands-on programs such as Young Astronomer, Space Engineering, and AI for Space. Founded seven years ago, the academy engages students across Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei. By collaborating with organizations such as the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), it empowers youth with future skills and innovation aligned with Malaysia’s space goals. Through space camps, workshops, and outreach programs, the academy makes space education accessible to all, fostering curiosity and opportunity in the space sector.
Russia – Central University
GFSSM's partner in Russia is Central University, a leading STEM institution specializing in artificial intelligence and computer science. The university co-organizes the national Olympiad and has prepared Russian teams for the IOAI and ICO, achieving medal-winning results. It conducts a two-stage national selection process and offers online courses in AI and cybersecurity. As the exclusive GFSSM Country Coordinator in Russia for 2026–2028, Central University selects and mentors national teams, organizes participation in GFSSM events, and expands educational opportunities for students across the country.
